House not secure right now? Door that won't lock, window that won't shut — I come out after hours, anywhere in Auckland.

Ivan, uPVC window and door repair technician, Auckland

Ivan Ex-service technician at Warm Windows

uPVC window & door repairs across Auckland

I fix the hardware instead of selling you new joinery — because in most cases the window is fine and the mechanism inside it isn't.

You'll know the price before I touch anything — I quote first, you decide, and nothing gets started until you've agreed it.

Were you a Warm Windows customer?

Warm Windows Limited went into liquidation in February 2026. I was their service technician from 2019 to 2024 — if you had a service call in those years, there's a fair chance I'm the person who came to your house.

I know the profiles, I know the Roto hardware inside them, and I know which parts are still available, because I spent five years ordering them. Everyone else you ring will want to quote you for replacement windows. I just fix the broken one.

  • Five years servicing uPVC joinery full time, Auckland-wide
  • aluplast profiles and Roto NT / NX hardware
  • Real replacement parts, not generic substitutes
  • You deal with me start to finish, not a call centre

What I fix

  • Handle won't turn, or spins freely
  • Window or door won't lock
  • Stuck between tilt and turn
  • Sash dropped or catching on the frame
  • Draughts and whistling
  • Window won't stay open
  • Fogging between the glass
  • Sliding or bifold door dragging
  • Perished seals and gaskets
  • Broken or seized hinges
  • Handles and locks replaced
  • Doors re-set and re-aligned

Not on the list? Ask anyway — it's probably still something I've seen.

Send me photos first

Photos on WhatsApp or by email, and I can usually work out what's failed and give you a price before I drive anywhere.

  1. The problem itself, up close

Whatever isn't working — the handle, the hinge, the lock. Close enough that I can see the detail.

  2. The same thing from a few steps back

The whole window or door in frame, so I can see what type it is and how it sits in the opening.

  3. If something has broken, photograph the break

The exact spot — the snapped part, the crack, the piece that's come away.

  4. If it won't do something, show me that

Won't close? Photograph the gap where it should meet the frame. Handle won't turn? Show how far it goes before it stops. Dropped and catching? Show where it catches. A short video works even better than a photo here.

Send as many as you like. The more I can see, the more accurate my answer — and the better the chance I turn up with the right part on the first visit.

Questions I get asked

Can you honour my Warm Windows warranty?

No, and neither can anyone else. When a company is liquidated its warranty goes with it — which is why every company advertising to former Warm Windows customers ends up offering the same thing: new windows.

So my work is paid work, and I won't pretend otherwise. But a handle, a hinge, a gearbox or a lock strip is a small job. Being told you need a whole new window usually isn't true.

Are you Warm Windows?

No. I worked there as a service technician from 2019 to 2024, and that's the whole relationship. I have no connection to the company now, or to whoever holds the brand.

Can you still get parts for these windows?

Usually, yes. The Roto hardware in this joinery has been in production a long time, and the common parts — gearboxes, hinges, handles, strikers, restrictors — are still made and still available in New Zealand.

Worth knowing, because "they don't make parts for those any more" is the standard opening line from someone who'd rather sell you a new window.

What's it going to cost?

It depends entirely on what's broken, so anyone quoting you a number over the internet is guessing. What I can promise is no surprises: I tell you the price before I start, you decide there and then, and nothing gets touched until you've agreed it.

Send me a photo and I can usually give you a figure without coming out at all.

How soon can you get here?

Usually within a day or two, Auckland-wide, and often the same evening. If your house isn't secure — a door that won't lock, a window that won't close — tell me when you call and I'll come out after hours.

Ring me and I'll answer. If it's easier, send photos on WhatsApp or by email instead — I can usually tell you what's wrong from those.

My windows aren't Warm Windows. Can you still help?

Yes. Most uPVC joinery in New Zealand uses the same European hardware no matter who assembled and installed it. Send a photo of the sash edge and I'll tell you straight away whether it's something I work on.
